[Community Tip] Tracking Audience Bid Adjustment Changes in Amazon PPC

Amazon’s web UI doesn’t display a change history for audience bid adjustments the way it does for placement adjustments—a gap that can make it hard to correlate performance shifts with the optimization moves you’ve made. This post shares two practical workarounds to solve that problem.

The Problem

When you adjust audience bid modifiers in your campaigns, there’s no visible audit trail or timestamp in the Amazon interface showing when or what you changed. This makes it difficult to:

  • Review performance after a specific adjustment
  • Remember what your previous bid modifier was
  • Connect ROAS or ACoS changes to the exact optimization action

Workaround 1: Encode Changes in the Audience Name

  • Add the date and adjustment details directly to your audience title
  • Example: 9/8/26 Aud 20->35 (increased from 20% to 35% bid adjustment on Sept 8)
  • When analyzing performance, filter your reporting by the date range after the change was made
  • This gives you a self-documenting system visible every time you open the campaign

Workaround 2: Use a Chrome Extension for Campaign Notes

  • Third-party browser extensions exist that let you attach notes to campaigns
  • These notes display alongside the campaign in the AWS UI
  • Useful for tracking changes, strategy rationale, or test parameters without cluttering campaign names

How Squatio helps

Squatio Optimize (PPC intelligence) tracks your bid adjustments and performance data over time, giving you the visibility Amazon’s native interface lacks. You can monitor audience performance and correlate it with your optimization history, reducing the guesswork when evaluating whether an adjustment worked.

Have you run into the same issue with audience bid tracking, and if so, which approach have you found most reliable—naming conventions, external notes, or something else?
