What due diligence do you do before paying any 'account reinstatement' or 'appeal service'?

If my Amazon account were ever suspended, I’d be extremely cautious before paying anyone who claims they can “guarantee” reinstatement. That’s one of the biggest Amazon appeal service scam warning signs.

Before hiring any appeal or reinstatement service, I’d do some basic due diligence:

  • Ask exactly what services they’re providing (case review, appeal drafting, policy guidance, etc.).

  • Be skeptical of anyone promising a guaranteed reinstatement or claiming they have special relationships or insider access.

  • Look for a consistent business history, transparent contact information, and independent customer feedback rather than relying only on testimonials they publish themselves.

  • Make sure pricing, deliverables, and refund policies are clearly explained before paying.

  • Avoid services that pressure you to pay immediately because your account is supposedly in “critical danger.”

  • Never share sensitive account credentials or security codes unless absolutely necessary and through secure, legitimate channels.

Another red flag is anyone who recommends misleading Amazon or submitting false invoices, fake documents, or fabricated explanations. Even if it sounds like a shortcut, that approach can create much bigger problems later.

Personally, I’d want any consultant to explain why they believe an appeal will be successful and what evidence they’ll use—not just promise results. A reputable service should set realistic expectations, because the final decision always rests with Amazon.

My rule of thumb is simple: if someone is selling certainty instead of expertise, I walk away. The biggest Amazon appeal service scam warning is a pitch built around guarantees, urgency, or “secret methods” rather than a clear, transparent process.
